Walter Harold Edwards, Age 25
Lance Corporal, 7183, 8th Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers.
Walter was the son of William Edward & Adelaide Lucy Edwards.
He was living in Newcastle-on-Tyne when he enlisted and was killed in action in Gallipoli on the 19th August 1915 and is remembered on the Helles Memorial Panels 33 to 35
Walter was Baptised on the 19th August 1890 at Dawley-Magna (Holy Trinity), but by the 1891 census the Family was living at Blankney, Lincolnshire, and at that time Walter’s father was a “Certificated Schoolmasters” Walter had two older sisters Ida and Elsie, also born at Dawley.
